1. What is mobile phlebotomy?

Mobile phlebotomy is a service where a trained phlebotomist travels to your home, office, assisted living facility, or other location to collect blood samples for laboratory testing.

2. How does the process work?

Once your lab order is received, we contact you to schedule an appointment. A licensed phlebotomist arrives at your location, performs the blood draw, and delivers the specimen to the designated laboratory.

3. Do I need a doctor’s order?

Yes. A valid lab order from your physician, nurse practitioner, or healthcare provider is required before services can be scheduled.

4. What areas do you service?

We provide mobile phlebotomy services throughout Volusia County, Seminole County, Orange County.

5. What laboratories do you work with?

We work with major laboratories including LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics, and other provider-requested laboratories.

6. How do I schedule an appointment?

Appointments can be scheduled by phone, text message, email or the website. We will coordinate a convenient date and time based on your availability.

7. Do you offer same-day or next-day appointments?

Yes, same-day and next-day appointments may be available depending on scheduling and location.

8. What should I do before my blood draw?

Please follow any fasting or preparation instructions provided by your healthcare provider. It is also recommended to stay hydrated before your appointment unless instructed otherwise.

9. Do you provide services for pediatric or elderly patients?

Yes. We provide services for patients of all ages, including pediatric, geriatric, homebound, and special-needs patients.

10. Is mobile phlebotomy covered by insurance?

Hands That Care Mobile Phlebotomy is a self-pay service and does not bill insurance directly, however, we can submit your insurance information to your preferred in-network laboratory for processing of your blood samples. 

Our mobile service fees start at $80. Final pricing may vary based on location, travel distance, and the type of service requested. 

11. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, electronic payments, and approved invoicing for contracted facilities or providers.

12. How long does the appointment take?

Most appointments take approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on the tests ordered and patient needs.

13. Are your phlebotomists trained and insured?

Yes. Our phlebotomists are professionally trained, experienced, and follow all OSHA safety and HIPAA privacy regulations.

14. Can you draw labs at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or workplaces?

Yes. We provide services for private homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, hospice patients, physician offices, and workplace collections.

15. What happens after the specimen is collected?

After collection, specimens are properly labeled, handled, and transported to the designated laboratory for testing.

16. How will I receive my lab results?

Lab results are sent directly to the ordering healthcare provider or through the laboratory’s patient portal.

17. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Advance notice is appreciated.

18. Do you offer routine or recurring lab visits?

Yes. We can arrange recurring visits for patients who require routine laboratory monitoring.

19. Is there an additional travel fee?

Travel fees may apply depending on the appointment location and distance traveled. Fees will be discussed before scheduling.
